Vacationers looking for surf, sand, and sun will find some of the best beaches in Kauai. As the oldest island in Hawaii, it is truly blessed with white sand and incredibly beautiful beaches.
All of the beaches on this island are great. What makes one different from the other are the activities offered on each. One beach will have the best snorkeling while another has incredible surfing and still another has spectacular sunsets.
Queens Bath
Here visitors can enjoy a natural swimming pool that is right on the ocean. It is unlikely most have ever seen another natural swimming pool quite like this one. The amount of salt in the water changes at the whim of the sea.
In winter great caution is needed as the waves are potentially dangerous and unpredictable during the winter season. A significant amount of people have died from the waves.
Hanalei Bay
This is great for families as it has calm waters and pristine sand. It is common to see families building sand castles and throwing frisbees. Other activities enjoyed here are scuba diving, windsurfing, and kayaking.
In winter the sea is rougher, but for experienced surfers and those wanting to watch them, it is a great time for that activity.
Ke’e Beach
Thanks to offshore reefs, this area offers a protected swimming area. The reefs here also make it an ideal location for snorkeling. This area is particularly great for families as they can find parking, restrooms, and showers.
Salt Pond Beach
This beach has something for all vacationers. Visitors will find camping areas, food trucks, and a large swimming area that is mostly protected. Restaurants are only minutes away for a quick lunch or substantial dinner after returning from the beach.
Poi’Pu Beach
Here is another beach with something for the entire family. Nearby picnic areas, restroom facilities, and showers along with available food make it easy to stay the day. Soft sand beaches, surfing, and spectacular views add to its splendor.
Anini Beach
For those into watersports, this will likely be one of the best beaches in Kauai. With 3 miles of soft sand and weather that is often perfect for sunbathing, along with conditions great for snorkeling and wind sailing, all combine to make this a popular destination.
Dramatic cliffs add beauty to the beach’s majestic views and nearby are shower and restroom facilities, a campground and areas to picnic.
Lydgate Beach
This beach offers 2 natural swimming pools, a large number of amenities, on duty lifeguard, and terrific conditions for snorkeling. This is one of the world most spectacular areas for snorkeling and experiencing life under the sea.
For families, the calm pools are great for children, and older folks. With all the beach offers, it is a great place to spend the entire day.
When it comes to travelers and vacationers, their needs are as diverse as their plans and destinations. Beaches in Kauai offer a wide range of amenities and outdoor activities for even the most demanding vacationer. It is a destination for all.
